The Titans discover the joys of eating breakfast food for every meal, but will that lead to an old friend becoming too powerful?
Plot[]
As evening falls upon the Tower, Robin calls the Titans over for dinner. Their hunger-filled excitmenet fades when they see the unappetizing meal—salmon loaf. Instead of eating the off-putting fish, Beast Boy has a ground-breaking idea: they should eat breakfast for dinner. Robin protests, stressing the importance of balanced meals, but the Titans disregard him and cook up an amazing breakfast for dinner. After Raven serves Robin up one of his favorite meals, a bland bowl of creamed wheat, Robin relents that maybe breakfast for dinner isn't such a bad idea—but only this ONE time...
...So when Robin catches the Titans eating breakfast for lunch the very next day, he's horrified. But again, some creamed wheat convinces Robin that breakfast really IS the superior meal. Soon, every food the Titans eat—pizza, popcorn, barbecue—it's all breakfast themed. The team spends the entire day devouring breakfast after breakfast, but when the clock strikes 3:00 AM, a huge problem arises: they're all out of breakfast food! To feed their hunger, the Titans resort to licking up waffle crumbs out of the trash. But luckily, Robin has a better idea.
The team drives down to Jump City for some late night breakfast at the Yum Yum Kitty Diner. A massive breakfast ensues, which makes the Titans quite massive themselves. Suddenly, Cyborg falls to the ground, screaming in pain. Soon, the whole team is on the floor in agony... a bright light flashes, transforming the Titans into breakfast foods—Robin is creamed wheat, Starfire is a hash brown, Cyborg is bacon, Beast Boy is a waffle, and Raven is an egg! Apparently, their unbalanced meals have made them like this, so they'll have to travel to the city of Mealtopia to learn how to return to normal...
Raven teleports the Titans to Mealtopia, which seems to be in a state of mass panic. A talking hamburger, Mr. Lunch, leads the team to safety in a giant to-go bag; he and the other food-based citizens are hiding from Mr. Breakfast, who has grown amazingly powerful thanks to the Titans' overconsumption of breakfast. Just then, the roof of the to-go bag is torn open, and the massive plate of talking eggs and bacon grabs Mr. Lunch, turning him into an egg sandwich (or "Mr. Brunch").
As Mr. Breakfast goes on a breakfast-transforming rampage throughout Mealtopia, the Titans jump into action to stop him. Unfortunately, all their attacks are breakfast-based, which only fuels the giant meal. But just as all seems lost, a challenger enters the fight: Mr. Dessert! The talking ice cream cone unleashes a flurry of strikes, combining Mr. Breakfast into defeat!
Finally, the Titans return to normal, as does the rest of Mealtopia and its citizens. Mr. Breakfast apologizes for going too far, and the Titans realize that eating balanced meals is ideal. Unfortunately, they instantly forget this lesson and immediately gobble up Mr. Dessert for dinner...
Mr. Breakfast from "Butter Wall" reappears in this episode.
Near the start of the episode, Robin remarks that his salmon loaf is full of "pure protein," which could be a possible callback to the Season 3 episode "Pure Protein."
Raven is seen unhooded for the 140th time in the series.
This is also the second instance she is seen unhooded in the form of a food item. In this case, she is seen as an egg.
The running gag is that Beast Boy repeating "waffles" when fighting against Mr. Breakfast is a callback to "Waffles".
Him being transmuted into a waffle is also related to this episode.
Starfire is once again to be shown having nine stomachs, like in many other episodes.
Robin's love for flavorless, boring creamed wheat hearkens back to his aversion to spicy food in "Spice Game" from Season 3.
