Kryptonite is a radioactive mineral from the planet Krypton. Following Krypton's destruction, some kryptonite found its way to the planet Earth.
History[]
Kryptonites are actively used in the movie and Doomsday Preppers. In both occasions, Superman is heavily affected and disabled, even dying to its effects.
In My Name is Jose, Raven is temporarily affected by Gizmo's Kryptonite ray, but luckily she manages to recover afterwards.
In Kryptonite, Superman's weakness of being easily affected by Kryptonies is mentioned.
In Fat Cats, Starfire almost uses some Kryptonites on Superman, in order to extort the latter into paying his taxes.
In the comic Misadventures in Babysitting, red Kryptonite has regressed Superman into a baby.
Description[]
Kryptonites are shards that come in different colors. The most common ones being those of neon green.
Powers and abilities[]
A Kryptonite can easily de-power any Kryptonian, such as Superman, with a single piece. Kryptonites can also be used to attack foes of Kryptonian descent even in liquid or powder form, or even as rays. Some of them, such as the red variant, can regress a Kryptonian's age.
