"Power Brokers" is issue #71 of the Teen Titans Go! comic book series.
Synopsis[]
The Titans may have bungled Raven's surprise party, but Pretty Pretty Pegasus LIVE! is coming to Jump City, and it’s their big chance to get tickets from some "Power Brokers" and make things right!
Plot[]
Tickets for the Pretty Pretty Pegasus LIVE! show are about to go on sale online, so Raven's posted a bunch of notes asking the Titans NOT to use any electricity. Unfortunately though, Cyborg, Robin, and Beast Boy are extremely obnoxious teammates; they all use electricity, causing the power to got out. On top of that, the three deny even seeing the notes. Cyborg eventually gets the systems back online, but it's too late: the show is sold out.
Robin lectures Raven about being more aware of the situation next time, so she proceeds to smash his head in. There IS no next time—this was a farewell concert. Starfire points out that other bands, like the The Who, have backtracked on their supposed going-away concerts, but Raven feels this really was her last chance. Now her birthday is ruined... feeling bad, Starfire proposes they find some extra tickets. The internet is fresh out, so Robin sends the Titans looking for some ticket re-sellers.
Meanwhile, Raven's in her room, on the phone with Jinx... apparently, her H.I.V.E. teammates screwed up her chances of getting PPP LIVE! tickets as well. Another call comes: Raven's dad, Trigon. He's up to doing somethin' special with her on her birthday, but Raven's got plans with Jinx...
Downtown Jump City is the perfect place to find some shady ticket sellers, so that's exactly where the Titans go. Robin leads them into an underground tunnel, where they meet the Brain and Monsieur Mallah. The enemies put there differences aside to get down to ticket-selling business... but Mallah blows them away with some sort of weaponry. According to Brain, only a high-buy ticket purchaser—a true demon—can help them out. Now Robin's got an idea... he sends Starfire back to the Tower to tell Raven to meet the team at the theater.
But Raven's just left—she and Jinx have teleported to the backstage of PPG LIVE!, where they meet Sparkleface! Or just an actress who plays her, Dolores... the lady (a fan of the two supers) explains that a wealthy person bought all the tickets, a present for his kid. And it turns out that it's Trigon! The demon is waiting outside of the theater with the Titans, but Raven's not showing up (she's already inside). Despite this, the group decides to stay and enjoy the show.
Since a selfish rich-guy bought out the show, the actresses decide to perform badly as a protest. So while the Titans and Trigon get a terrible performance, Raven get's to go to the show's afterparty... awesome b-day!

Trivia[]
- While Raven is hanging upside down on her bed, her hood is on and her face is not half-shrouded in darkness. Normally, her face is half-dark with the hood on, but the inversion causes this amazing phenomenon.
- It's shown that Robin has a Batman wallet, the "Bat Wallet" (and it's empty).
Continuity[]
- Robin's cactus gal from "The Inner Beauty of a Cactus" can be seen on page 4.
- There's a picture of Cyborg in Jinx's room, so apparently the relationship is still a thing.
- Jump City Cinemas 12 returns from the episode "Beast Man". Two new movies are showing:
- Death Toilet: The Final Flush
- Rashomon 2: Seems Different (a fictional sequel to Rashōmon, a popular 1950s Japanese film).
- While in the sewers, Robin mentions going to a B.E.R. last summer. B.E.R. was the band that sung The Night Begins to Shine.
- The Brain is selling some tickets to a few shows:
- Blue Devil Blues Explosion
- Challengers of the Unknown on Ice
- Inferior Five in Conversation
References[]
- An English rock band known as The Who are mentioned by Starfire at one point in "Power Brokers."
- In one of the panels, a comedian named "Weird Al" Yankovic makes an appearance, asking for free comedy gig. "Weird Al" is the voice actor for Darkseid and a singer for the Super Summer Hero Camp Song.
- Dolores refers to an internet poster named "NEXTBATMAN1940," probably Robin. 1940 was the year of his first appearance, specifically in Detective Comics #38.[1]
Errors[]
- When Raven is checking her missed messages on her Communicator, her hand is drawn and colored like Starfire's.
Running Gags[]
- The Teen Titans ignore Raven's notes.
