Article Guidelines

Hello and welcome to the Article Guidelines, a list of standards and advice for editing on the Teen Titans Go! Wiki! The purpose of this page is to help users with updating articles so that we can make the wiki more universal, consistent, and appealing.

It's worth noting that most of these are guidelines, not rules—meaning there's really no punishment for deviating from most of them. Users on this wiki have a lot of freedom when it comes to creating/editing articles! However, following these policies and suggestions is the best way to go; it'll lead to a more perfect, harmonious, and enjoyable wiki...

General Editing Guidelines

These are the basic rules for all pages on the Teen Titans Go! Wiki. By reading through these regulations, users will get a general idea of the article standards for our site. As stated before, most of these guidelines aren't that strict, but a few obviously must be enforced. After all, these are public pages—we can't allow just ANYTHING to go on them... So, the non-negotiable statutes will be colored red.

For more specific guidelines on articles, jump to the Manual of Style.

Article Titles

 • For pages that have multiple possible names, the titled selected should be the one that's most commonly used in Teen Titans Go! (example: Starfire, not Koriand'r).
 • If no official name is known, go with the name it's usually referred to as. If there's no common name, choose one to the best of your ability (ex: Electron).
 • When there are multiple pages that share the same name, distinguish the articles by using parentheses for one of them (examples: "Road Trip" (comic) and "Road Trip").
 • The first word, all nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, and subordinate conjunctions of the page should be capitalized—unless it's a distinguisher in parentheses (exs: Teen Titans (series) and "How's This for a Special? Spaaaace").
 • If the name of a page subject is stylized in all capital letters, the article title should be downsized to lower case (ex: Cartoon Network).
 • Episode and comic titles in the show have quotation marks (") surrounding them, so the pages/subpages should be marked with them as well (ex: "Legendary Sandwich").
 • Titles for gallery and transcript subpages should include the original article's title, followed by a forward slash (/), and then the type of subpage it is (ex: "Bored of the Dance"/Gallery).

Writing Style

 • Since Teen Titans Go! is made in the U.S.A., American spellings of English should be used.
 • This should go without saying, but only information relevant to the article should be included.
 • From time to time, other languages can be used when the show refers to them (ex: La Cucaracha in "Head Fruit").
 • Users should use excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation, and sensational sentence structure. So long as it's easy to read... not like kindergartener-easy, but regular person-easy.
 • Opinion statements should be very rare in articles. Blatant opinions (ex: Robin is so ugly) are forbidden, but more passive opinions are acceptable (example: Robin makes an ugly face).
 • Typing in the 2nd person (using "you") should be kept to a minimal and only in appropriate places.
 • Profanity is banned except in cases where the show/supporting material actually uses cuss words (ex: Watch Me).
 • Writers are encouraged to demonstrate their creative abilities when writing! One of the goals of this wiki is to inform, but there's nothing wrong with adding some wise wordplay or a little humor... since Teen Titans Go! is often a crazy show, this wiki is a little more lenient when it comes to this. So have fun!

Infoboxes

Crazy, Crazy (Article)

Infoboxes just look so professional...

 • Want to know how to make an article look much more appealing? Simple, add an infobox. Almost all pages have an applicable infobox that can be inserted at the beginning of the article. Just be sure to fill in the data and insert picture.
 • Keep all the information inputted into infoboxes directly to the right of the equal sign entry point ("="). In addition, press enter after the template name and every piece of data entered.
 • With pages that have tons of info, sometimes it might be appropriate to add additional infoboxes (ex: Alternate Forms heading on Raven page).

Headings

 • Pretty much every article has enough information to require different sections. Insert heading when there's a clear divide between data.
 • Sometimes there'll be headings that can be divided into even smaller sections. If there are two or more sections, create another heading by adding an extra equal ("=") sign.
 • Like article titles, headings should capitalize the first word, all nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, and subordinate conjunctions. Non-proper nouns in parentheses are an exception.
 • Only hit "enter" once after you've finished a paragraph under a heading and are about to move onto a new heading. If it's a subheading directly after a heading, it's not necessary to press "enter."

Images and Galleries

Stockton, CA! (USB)

A good example pic; clear, ideal size, and Beast Boy is looking his coolest.

 • You've heard the cliché before... "A picture is worth a thousand words." Well guess what, it's a cliché because it's true. Try to add pictures from the show/supporting material every few paragraphs. Preferably, they should be quality photos in thumbnail format, around 200px in most cases, feature a clever caption, and inserted to fit well with the text.
 • Near the end of the article, users should add a gallery of images under the heading "Gallery." These boost the page value by a lot. Only add images not yet featured in the article.
 • In a couple cases, you might opt to add an additional gallery mid-page. Rarely if ever is this applicable, though.
 • If the gallery has ten or more images, a subpage should be created, with a redirect left in place. These offshore galleries should include pictures already seen on the main article (ex: "How 'Bout Some Effort"/Gallery).
 • Depending on what kind of photos the gallery contains, separate headings can be established to distinguish groups of pics.

Categories

 • One of the easiest navigation methods on the wiki is through categories. You should always attempt to file articles into as many applicable categories as possible... within reason.
 • Again, like article titles, the first word, all nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, and subordinate conjunctions (but not non-proper nouns inside parentheses) of category names should be capitalized.
 • Category pages should include a brief description about what exactly they are categorizing.

Templates

Old Man (Article)

Unknown name? Template time.

 • (Note: For infobox templates, see the "Infobox" heading.)
 • Informally formatted or unfinished pages should be marked with a Construction template at the top of the page.
 • Users should add a Stub template at the bottom of articles that fall under the 500 byte threshold (in addition to the Construction template).
 • For pages with an unknown name, an Unofficial Name template really helps out the readers.
 • In the case of unreleased/upcoming content, add an Unreleased template.
 • To see more comprehensive list of wiki templates, click here.

Miscellaneous

 • For page sections that don't have any data released yet, type To be announced... or TBA... underneath the heading.
 • If there are two articles with a similar name (exs: Super Summer Hero Camp and Superhero Summer Camp), leave a redirect in italics at the top of the page to help guide users.
 • When using bullet points, don't include a space between the asterisk and the text.
 • The titles of TV series, books, games, movies, and songs should be italicized (ex: Crazy Crazy).
 • Try not to add any useless, uninteresting info into the trivia section. What's interesting to some people may not be interesting to others, but as a general rule, if the trivia you want to add doesn't really excite you, it prolly won't excite other users, either. (ex: "Robin has walked many times in the show" is not needed).
 • If you are including a "Sources" heading, try to include no more than 5 references, as this wiki is not an Essay class.

Manual of Style

This section goes into a little more detail with specific article types; it's a manual for the preferred TTG Wiki page style—in other words, a "Manual of Style" (or "MoS"). The majority of wiki articles fall into one of the following page categories... just go to the heading for the type of page you'd like to create/edit, copy the text in the gray box, and paste it into the editor. Instructions/notes marked by a double plus sign (++) have been inserted to help the editor along the way. Simply delete the instructions and surrounding "++" signs, add the appropriate info, and then publish!

If the kind of article you're trying to make/update isn't on this list and you need help with the format, you can ask an administrator or experienced user for help.

(Note: This MoS uses source mode of the classic wiki editor, so it's advised follow suit. Text can be translated over to the new editor, but that's gonna take some work.)

Characters

Doomsday (Article) (1

Quality character page of Doomsday.

Looking to make or edit a character page? Well you've looked in the right place! These articles are very beneficial to the wiki, because many people like to read about DC characters. But before you get to editing, first figure out whether he/she is a major or a minor character in the show. Generally, major status is reserved for characters that appear in a good number of episodes and with importante roles.

Major Characters

So you're thinking about editing a major character page... just know that you'll definitely have your work cut out for you. Since characters like Cyborg are immensely important to the series, they require a lot of writing and data to satisfy some hungry readers. Now go get cooking!

(Note: some of the text in the gray box below carries on to the right, so be sure to copy and paste all of it.)

Minor Characters

By there nature of being minor, these Minor Character pages are basically a scaled down version of major characters. Still, a lot of the headings and textual patterns are mimicked. Use this format for articles like the Magical Tree Custodians—those characters who don't really pop out as often.

{{Character

were originally created by the show, do not include this paragraph.++

show.++

Physical Appearance
++Type a paragraph that describes the characters physical appearance (more paragraphs

++Add appropriate categories (needs Characters for sure) to the page.++

Character Galleries

As stated earlier, when the gallery in a page spills over nine images, a separate article dedicated to pictures should be created. Take this page, Lumberjack/Gallery, for example—only twelve photos... but that's more than nine, right? So separate article.

++Add an introductory paragraph stating that this is an image gallery for a character
If he/she only has one appearance, state which episode/comic/etc. and which season/vol-
-ume/etc. Finally, leave a redirect to the main article. ++
++(Note: if there are no images available for the following subheadings, do not include
the section.)++

Episodes

Lil' Dimples-Transcript (Article)

"Lil' Dimples transcript. A lotta work!

Teen Titans Go! is a cartoon with many seasons, so obviously there's gonna be a lotta episode pages to create and update as well. The majority of these articles follow the same pattern, but a few of them such as "Two Parter" are, well, two parts in one article. That means twice the editing... but it's aight. So with that in mind, scroll down to either the main episode page, episode gallery, or episode transcript format.

Episodes

A big load of work will go into the hub page for episodes, with most of that being focused in the plot section (take "Strength of a Grown Man", for example). It's recommended to have a recording of the episode while editing these pages, that way you can get it all in...

++Add an introductory paragraph with the name of the episode in bold, followed by the
episode number in the season and then the overall episode number.++

Synopsis
++Add the official synopsis from Cartoon Network.++

Plot
++Type a recount of the episode, going more in-depth than the synopsis, but not as in-
-depth as a
transcript.++
++(Note: the amount of paragraphs under this heading will depend on the writer.)++
++Add a relevant image or images from the episode here, inserting it well into the text
with a caption. If it cannot fit within the section, don't worry about it.++

Characters
++Add an image or images from the episode here, depending on how much the section can
fit. Insert captions as well.++

Songs
++List any songs that were in the episode. If there were none, then there's no need for
this heading.++

Trivia
++List interesting trivia facts about the episode.++
++(Note: if there is no content to add to the following subheadings, do not include
them.)++
++Add a relevant image or images from the episode to this heading or any subheadings be-
-low where possible, inserting it well into the text with a caption.++

Continuity
++Add any interesting continuity from previous episodes/comics/etc.++

References
++Insert any references found within the episode here.++

Errors
++Add any errors found in the episode's production/writing.++

Running Gags
++List the running gags that are found throughout the episode.++

Transcript
The transcript for "_____" can be found here.
++(Note: fill in the "_____" with the name of the episode.)++

Gallery
++Add an image from the episode here.++

Sources
++(Note: only include this heading and "Reflist" if references were used in the ar-
-ticle.)++
Reflist
EpisodeNav

++If there are articles of the episode in other languages, leave a link to said pa-
-ge(s).++
++Add appropriate categories (needs Episodes for sure) to the page.++

Episode Galleries

Although it's illegal to post the whole episode in a video clip, users can get around that by posting all of it in pictures (kinda)! Obviously, try to use the best, highest quality images you can get, preferably straight from the episode. "Forest Pirates"/Gallery is a great example page for setting up an episode gallery.

++Add an introductory paragraph stating that this is an image gallery for an episode.
Also, specify the season and leave a redirect to the main article.++
++(Note: if there are no images available for the following subheadings, do not include
the section.)++

Gallery
Promo
<gallery>
++Add images from the promos for the episode here, as well as captions.++
</gallery>

Episode
<gallery>
++Add images directly from the episode here, as well as captions.++
</gallery>

Concept Art
<gallery>
++Add images of concept art for the episode here, as well as captions.++
</gallery>

Miscellaneous
<gallery>
++Add any miscellaneous images from the episode here, as well as captions.++
</gallery>

++If there are articles of the gallery in other languages, leave a link to said pa-
-ge(s).++
++Add appropriate categories (needs Galleries for sure) to the page.++

Episode Transcripts

So you don't wanna write that big long episode plot? Guess what, transcripts aren't much better. In fact, they're a lot harder. Every line, scene change, and action must be recorded, just like it is in the "Pie Bros"/Transcript article. The MoS below gives the basics for forming a transcript, but a lot of the formatting rests on your shoulders.

Transcript
++(Note: below is a template setup for typing the transcript. Every episode has differ-
-ent dialogue, action, and scenes, so each transcript will have a vastly different com-
-bination. However, there are some patterns to follow: always list the scene first, and
report all actions and dialogue exactly as they go down. So, as stated earlier, here are
the main components of a transcript...)++

++(Note: begin the transcript with this text, filling in the "_____" in the second row
with the setting...)++

colspan="2" | SCENE: _____.

++(Note: the next piece of text can be added for dialogue. Fill in the first "_____"
with the name of the character talking. If the character doesn't have a dialogue tem-
-plate, delete the whole template and simply type there name in. In the second "_____",
add dialogue and actions taken in between dialogue [actions should be in italics and
have brackets around them].++

_____:
_____

++(Note: for long stretches of action, use the following text setup to record it. Just
replace the "_____" with the action [it will be in italics].)++

colspan="2" |_____

++(Note: end the transcript by using this at the end...)++

++If there are articles of the transcript in other languages, leave a link to said pa-
-ge(s).++
++Add appropriate categories (needs Transcripts for sure) to the page.++

Books

Snowbunny's Fool-Gallery (Article)

Gallery for "Snowbunny's Fool".

The success of Teen Titans Go! has lead to a great amount of books being written... and now that's lead to a lot of book ARTICLES being written. This section includes traditional comics, novelizations, and kids books such as Rainy Day Heroes. They all have pretty much the same format/pattern, and they're also quite similar to episode pages. Just in book form. So get to reading, and then get to writing!

Books

We'll start out with the main article for the book/comic. The comic issues are written very much like regular episodes, as you can see by the "Pie Bros"/Transcript article. Other non-comic books might not be so similar, so the plot may need to be handled in a different way.

{{Comic infobox

Book Galleries

Though these books are primarily in print, there are a few online sites that offer readers a look, as well as screenshots (just try to use the legal websites...). Try getting the full, un-cropped pages of a book (like in "Posers"/Gallery), but page sections will definitely work if that's the only thing available.

++Add an introductory paragraph stating that this is an image gallery for a book/comic.
Additionally, leave a redirect to the main article.++

the section.)++

Book Transcripts

Pages such as "Idol Hands"/Transcript focus on the transcript of the book/comic. Obviously. Two things to mention: first, the infobox is in serious need of visual updating, but it's all we got right now. And secondly, these should be slightly easier than episode transcripts since the dialogue is already in written form... no subtitles needed.

{{Infobox comic transcript

-ferent dialogue, action, and scenes, so each transcript will have a vastly different

add dialogue and actions taken in between dialogue [actions should be in italics and

Games

Time to see how good your editing game is on game pages... After playing these, you'll probably soon realize many differences; for example, Tower Lockdown has levels while Jump Jousts doesn't. Some may have obstacles, some may not. No problem though, just adjust the format accordingly to what's there and what isn't.

(Note: in the gray box below, some of the text carries on to the right. Be sure to copy and paste all of it.)

Movies

As of right now, there are only two Teen Titans Go! movies: Teen Titans Go! to the Movies and Teen Titans Go! vs Teen Titans (the latter being unreleased). Still, since there's always the possibility of future films, we got this MoS right here. It's similar to the episode format, but with a few extra sections.

Songs

Every so often, an episode, movie or even a comic will feature a song with words, such as Boo Boo Song. These are usually relatively short articles to create/edit, so they're a great option for editing if you don't want something too long. Tip: a little knowledge in rhythm might help you out. Other than that, just chill with the vibes...

++Add an introductory paragraph with the name of the song in bold and italics, the
genre, and who sings the song. Also include a subcompact summary of the song's subject
matter.++

++In a new paragraph, name the episode the song first debuted in.++

Lyrics
++(Note; below is a setup for typing the song lyrics. Every song has different words and
structure, so each lyrical transcript will have a very different combination of lines.
However, there are some patterns to follow: always start out a new section of lyrics
with a musical heading, denote the singer [and all changes in who's singin'], and break
up the lines into measures. So, as stated earlier, here are the main components of a
song transcript...)++

++(Note: begin a new section of music with a heading like this...)++

[++Add the heading here (example: Verse 2).++]<br>

++(Note: to distinguish who is singing, add the following template, replacing "_____"
with the characters name. If they don't have a dedicated template, simply type there
name in bold and follow it up with a colon.)++

_____:<br>

++(Note: to actually add lines, count the number of beats to figure out how much you
should have in each line [usually four]. Italicize all text, and put a "<br>" after the
line to keep it separate. When a section ends, no "<br>" is needed, just press enter
twice. Also, for interjections in the song [ex: someone says "yeah!"], enclose them in
parentheses to differentiate them. An example line is shown below.)++

++Add the lyric here.++ (++Add the interjection here++)

Trivia
++List interesting trivia facts about the song.++
++Add an image or images of the song here, depending on how much the section can fit.

Objects

Below is the article format for any non-living object in Teen Titans Go! (the T-Car, for example). But before you go and create a page for a random rock or something, first question whether it plays an important role in the episode and/or show. If so, go ahead and start editing! The setup is actually somewhat similar to a character page.

{{Object infobox
name=PAGENAME
image=++Add an image of the object.++
caption=++Insert a caption for the above image.++
location=++List where the object can be found, separating locations with "<br>."++

-mary of its origins and the role it plays in the show.++

++In a new paragraph, name which episode the object debuted in.++

History
++In this paragraph, summarize the history of the object from past DC media. If it was
originally created by the show, do not include this paragraph.++

++Next, insert a summarizing paragraph about what the object has been through throughout
the show.++

Description
++Add a relevant image of the object here, inserting it well into the text with a cap-
-tion.++
++Type a paragraph that describes the object's physical appearance (more paragraphs may
be needed if there's different variants of the object).++

Features
++(Note: if the object doesn't have any features, do not include this heading/subhead-
-ing.)++

Locations

Rock of Eternity (Article)

Take a trip to the Rock of Eternity.

The Teen Titans have traveled to quite a bit of crazy places throughout the show, so there's naturally gonna be a good amount of location pages on the wiki. One such popular location is obviously Titans Tower, where the team lives. A special emphasis has been placed on area description and inhabitants with these types of articles. If you're in to geography or architecture, then have fun...

Buildings

Want to build an article about a building? Good news, we have the blueprints right below. This section deals with establishments such as Jump City Cinemas 12. Most of the formatting is pretty straightforward, but the "Rooms" section can get a little confusing with that infobox. Oh well, get through it. It's not that hard.

(Note: some of the formatting in the gray box below goes on rightwards, so be sure to copy and paste it all.)

{{Location infobox
name=PAGENAME
image=++Insert an image of the building.++
caption=++Caption the above image.++
located=++If the building is within a larger location, name the site. If not, leave this

Other Locations

Some locations aren't really centered on a structure; the whole area is kind of just its own, like Tamaran. For articles such as these, the "Rooms" subheading has been replaced with "Points of Interest." Other than that, there are few differences between the buildings MoS and this one.

(Note: a bit of the text in the gray box below goes on to the right, so make sure to copy and paste all of it.)

{{Location infobox

Crew

Of course we can't forget about the all important crew... without them there would be no Teen Titans Go!. Show your thanks by editing or creating a crew member article such as Wes Abbott. The infobox definitely needs a redesign, but it's the only thing available at the moment. Hope you like writing biographies.

{{Template:Crew

character on the show. However, it can be substituted for different things depending on
the crew member'sjob. For example, a writer could have "Episodes Written," an artist
could have "Comics Drawn," etc. Then appropriate subheadings can be used to distinguish

Miscellaneous

Teen Titan Go!-Toys (Article)

Nothing in the MoS about Teen Titans Go! toys... good luck, though.

Hmm... haven't found the sort of article you're trying to make or edit? Well, the Teen Titans Go! Wiki has a wide variety of special articles that just don't fit into any of the above categories. Take Cartoon Network for example... it's the only TV channel on the wiki, and so it wouldn't make much sense for it to get its own MoS. Tip: by looking at the formats for all the other article types, so you should be able to get an idea of what you wanna do. And again, the Admins and knowledgeable users are more than happy to help you!

Conclusion

Done reading all that? Or did you just skip down to the conclusion? Either way, thanks for checking out the Teen Titans Go! Wiki Article Guidelines... hopefully you've found the answers to all your editing questions. If you haven't or have noticed something missing, you can ask an Administrator to update the guidelines/Manual of Style. Alright, have fun editing on the TTG Wiki!
