It's St. Patrick's Day, and, after wishing to become a leprechaun, Beast Boy becomes obsessed with gold.
Plot
The Teen Titans are planning to catch a leprechaun, because they heard a leprechaun gives three wishes with the phrase "Fiddle de dee, tell me your wishes three." Instead, they catch Robin. They force him to change into a leprechaun so they can get wishes. He then tells them why is doesn't want to be a leprechaun. Beast Boy wishes to be a leprechaun. He becomes a leprechaun and then he sings Livin' that Leprechaun Life. Then Beast Boy wants to steal their cereals and then he cobbles their shoes. Then, He becomes obsessed with gold and then he attempts to change the economy. Then, they turn into leprechauns and stop him. Then, for some reason, he tells three wishes. The first wish for them to wear hats. The second wish is for the hats to turn sideways. Then, the four Titans want their hats to be turned backwards as their last wish, but Robin doesn't want to waste it, so he wishes that Beast Boy could change back into a superhero. On the way home, Robin remarks to Beast Boy that they can discuss the advantages of floating exchangement. Meanwhile, the rest of the Titans decide to stay in the safe, while paying attention to the gold inside, as the safe door closes shut, and the lock turns itself, as the episode ends.
Raven is seen unhooded for the 59th time in the series.
References
Everything said about the gold standard in this episode is true, including Richard Nixon taking the nation off of it in 1971.
Beast Boy being a leprechaun and eating cereal is a reference to Lucky the Leprechaun, the mascot of Lucky Charms cereal.
The symbols on the baseball hats Beast Boy, Starfire, Raven and Cyborg wore is also a reference to Lucky Charms. The colors and shapes on their hats symbolize the marshmallows (Beast Boy's hat has a purple horseshoe on it, Starfire's hat has a yellow star, Raven's hat has a red heart, and Cyborg's hat has a green four leaf clover).
Beast Boy's "shi-lle-lagh" attack is a reference to Son Goku's Kamehameha Wave attack in the Dragon Ball manga. As a matter of fact then entire scene is a parody of "DragonBall", Goku fighting against Frieza.
The music during the action scenes is meant to sound like "I'm Shipping Up to Boston" by the Dropkick Murphy's.
The "Four Spirits Clover" is a reference to Son Goku's Spirit Bomb in the Dragonball frabchise.
One of Beast Boy's leprechaun tattoos reads "gold rulz evry thng round me". This may be a reference to the Wu-Tang Clan song "C.R.E.A.M." (Cash Rules Everything Around Me).
Cyborg's quote, "We don't want your gold, fool!", is a reference to the 2008 action romance flick, Fool's Gold.
