The episode starts with the Titans packing their bags for the trip. Robin announces that they will be leaving for the flight. Each of the Titans announces what they will be doing on the flight. Robin tells the Titans that they are going to Los Angeles. Everyone is excited to do something there. Cyborg wants to do a tour that goes past celebrities' houses, while Raven wants to dance at a nightclub. Beast Boy wants to eat a vegan meal at a fancy restaurant, and finally, Starfire wants to ride at the expensive theme parks.
However, the gang ends up in San Pedro, where Berto's house is located. Beast Boy, Cyborg, and Raven complain that Robin didn't fulfill his promise. Starfire, however, is interested in staying in Berto's house. It turns out that the Titans will be sleeping in his son's room but not on the bed. Everybody is upset, but Robin tries to cheer them up about places in San Pedro, like the local sub shop Gut Gushers, the Maritime Museum, or explore the docks. Berto says that he is a celebrity and can make the finest shrimps and prime ribs. Then, he sings a song about he can cook it.
The Titans then go down to the basement, and Berto shows the vault where he keeps his recipe book. Unfortunately, the recipe book is stolen by the villainous longshoreman Carl Sanpedro. To retrieve the book, the teens decide to explore different parts of San Pedro.
The Titans visit the ballet studio and meet Mindy Oakland, a famous ballerina. Initially, Mindy seems amiable to them, but she becomes demanding and therefore the Titans have to do ballet dances while asking questions about Carl Sanpedro, which ends up causing tremendous pain in their toes. Mindy can care less about their agony though and instead is more satisfied with their submission to her.
After the studio, the Titans go eat at Gut Gushers. At first, the sandwiches taste good to all of them, but then their guts start gushing (true to the sandwiches' namesake!) and then explode. Robin finds footprints with mustard on them and leaves the restaurant with the Titans, much to the dismay of the staff, who has to clean their mess.
Then the Titans arrive at the Maritime Museum, much to Starfire's dismay. However, Beast Boy, Cyborg, Raven, and Starfire find a big ship, which is actually the US Iowa, and play as if they were the crew. Suddenly, Starfire spots Carl Sanpedro at the Maritime Museum's gift shop, who then activates a dock robot, which the Titans are no match for. However, with the power of hurting their toes, they leap onto the ship, shoot out the Gut Gushers, and with the power of the sandwiches, they finally defeat the robot.
After the Titans defeat Carl, however, they found out that he has escaped. Berto says that they have to travel across the world to get his recipe book back. The episode ends with Robin saying, "Where exactly on the globe is Carl Sanpedro?" followed by Berto saying, "Okey-Dokey."
This is the only episode where Carl Sanpedro is seen without his henchmen.
Robin is seen purchasing all of the Titans' sandwiches himself, implying he may be responsible for paying for all the Titans' food.
The overpriced theme park Starfire refers to is Disneyland, confirmed by the location shown on Berto's phone.
Talya Perper did the storyboard for the scenes where the Titans are in Mindy's ballet studio (with Sean Kreiner), visiting Gut Gushers, and part of the part when the Titans encounter Carl Sanpedro at the Maritime Museum.
Branko Kljajic storyboarded the fight between the Titans and Carl's robot.
The Titans and Berto break the fourth wall when they recommend the audience should visit San Pedro.
